Declutter / Create Order / Simplify

I had a previous posting about decluttering. This is new information that I think will additionally help all of us cluttery type people out there.  Clearing away unused and unwanted 'stuff' in your home is not as hard as it sounds. Decluttering makes you feel better. It takes a large amount of stress away that possibly you are not even sure is there. I know. I've searched and read countless books and articles and now blogs about this problem. I am not as bad as many about clutter, but I have it too. Here is what Mimi Tanner has to say about it in her newsletter. I've only added just a bit here. She has SO much to share! There are additional links to other blogs & helps in the graphics also.

Declutter Fast - How to Get Your Home In Order Almost Immediately!

I am fascinated with the subject of decluttering. Why? Because there is nothing in this world that feels quite the same as looking around your home and seeing it in order and glowing. And there's nothing more energy-draining than living with clutter. There are people right on your street who have to literally clear paths in their home just to find their way to the bathroom. There are people in your city who sleep every night on a bed that is piled with junk. Yes, it can get that bad!!

The good news is that it doesn't matter how bad your own clutter is - you can conquer the clutter on your own terms, in your own time - fast or slow - or a little of both. It is not as difficult as it seems. And you will feel so much better the more ORDER you have in your life.

Do you have a room that is chock full of clutter?  Maybe that is your "junk room" and you literally keep the door closed. Maybe it's your garage. Maybe it's your bedroom and you know you would sleep better if you got rid of the clutter that's lurking nearby.

Clutter can put you in a bad mood, but an orderly room will make your energy soar.  Here's how to "divide and conquer" a room with a mishmash of clutter.

Start with the clothes, and anything made of fabric. Clothing in this case includes anything made of fabric - towels, sheets, tablecloths, curtains, and so forth.

Once you deal with the clothing, you will have significantly diminished the clutter in the room! Dealing with the clothing can turn into a big task. But if you ONLY focus on the fabrics for now, it makes your decluttering job easier.

So today, in your own personal "junk room," ignore everything else except the clothing! Examine each piece to see what it needs - washing, dry cleaning, ironing, or just hanging up or putting away.

Not enough places to put the clothes away? Then it's time to eliminate! When you eliminate as much as you can, you will have simplified your life.

Wonderful site! Take a few minutes to visit!
Give this task whatever time you have. You'll see progress. Commit to ten minutes per day to deal with clothing. Soon, you'll feel proud of your closets - the results of your efforts!

Whether you decide to get decluttered in one day, or little by little, keep making progress - because eventually you will reach your goal of an orderly home.
