Lace is originally from the Victorian era beginning around the late 1500's. Lace can be a part of anything from scarves, wedding dresses to even denim! And this last one is what intrigues me. Lace and Denim! Two of my favorite things!
"There is perhaps nothing more elegant and history-inspired in fashion than a garment embellished with lace.
For the history enthusiast with even the most basic sewing skills, any ordinary white blouse
can be transformed into an homage to past fashion trends by simply adding
a lace collar or cuffs. Or a plain jumper dress suddenly takes on a Victorian feel when paired with a petticoat trimmed
with lace at the hem." ~courtesy of Eras of Elegance
Here are photos I found on Pinterest today that led me to talk about this particular combination. There are SO many more to see! Go on Pinterest today and just search for lace and denim, or just lace . . . see what
you find!
There are so many beautiful creations that can be made using lace, whether you are handy with sewing or not! Maybe you are really great at crocheting and can create miraculous lace items! If so, I congratulate and commend you at your skill . . . it is not an easy one!
